ENVIRONMENT & HUMAN BEHAVIOUR
Call for Proposals
The Economic and Social Research Council invites applications for a New
Opportunities Programme on the Environment & Human Behaviour.
This is two year Programme aims to identify and develop new directions,
theories and methods in environmental social science research.
Illustrative examples of research priorities include:
· Rapid Climate Change - Vulnerability, Adaptation, Mitigation
· Global Environmental Change & Food Systems
· Sustainable Mobility
· Urban Systems & Long Term Climate Change
· Tourism & the Environment
· Natural Capital
Up to 12 one-year projects will be commissioned at a maximum cost of £40k
each. It is not expected that detailed data collection and analyses will be
undertaken within this Programme.
Applications must be from researchers based at UK Higher Education
Institutions and other Research Institutes eligible for ESRC funding. It is
anticipated that projects will commence in January 2003.
There will be no stage of outline application. Applicants should submit
full programme proposals. Applications should be received by the ESRC
Registrar by 5.00pm on 13th September 2002.
