Primary Care Sciences Research Centre
Keele University
Seminar Series 2002
Thursday 16th May 2002
Professor Mike Campbell
Professor of Medical Statistics
Institute of Primary Care
Northern General Hospital
Sheffield
will be speaking on:
Statistics in Primary Care
“The talk is in two parts: the first describes a survey we did of
research papers in primary care journals, to review their use of
statistics. We found a greater use of binary data and logistic
regression than comparable surveys have found of mainstream medicine.
The second part will consider what makes research (and statistics)
different in primary care, such as more use of cluster trials and
patient preference trials and different properties of screening tests”
