At our obstetricians request we still keep to the old GTT with a 1 and
2hr glucose done in the antenatal clinic. These are done on selected
pregnancies but no screening glucose screening tests are done prior to
the GTT. Hence most are normal. These ladies are not free to roam but we
get many 2 hr glucose results lower than the basal, often up to 1
mmol/L.
