Has anyone any experience of using the MediSense Optium blood glucose &
ketone sensor ?
Our Diabetic Nurse Specialist has had some of these to try out, and now the
Diabetologist is rather keen to introduce them hospital-wide. Currently we
employ the Advantage II sensor, and have been more then happy in its
performance.
The MDA have evaluated the blood glucose sensor, but not the ketone sensor,
and have no plans afoot to do so. I am especially concerned/interested in
the ketone checking ability of the sensor, and the potential risk ( if any )
of patient mismanagement based on results obtained.
Can anyone help ???
