Those eagle-eyed readers of the BMJ will have spotted that GlaxoSmithKline
have done it again, ie changed the recommended volume of Lucozade for GTTs.
Although the calorific value is still 73 kcal/100 ml, the volume to deliver
75 g of anhydrous glucose is now 394 ml (not 419 ml, as they recommended
last year). Presumably the bioavailability has changed.
I must admit I missed the advert (BMJ 06/04/02, opposite p815) and a local
GP has just pointed it out to me. Time for yet another updated protocol...
