We have been re-evaluating our urine albumin excretion reference interval.
Since we cannot determine our own reference interval we have looked in the
literature and found a number of different values.
These are;
urine albumin/creatinine <1.0 mg / mmol overnight collection and
<2.3 mg / mmol random collection from Watts et al CCA 172;191-198:1988
urine albumin/creatinine Males <2.5 mg / mmol Females <3.5 mg / mmol
from New Zealand guidelines-consensus statement, New Zealand Medical
Journal, 378- 381;1996.
urine albumin/creatinine <2.65 mg / mmol from Remuzzli et al NEJM
346;1145-1151:2002
Do any labs quote separate ranges for males and females?
What ranges do labs quote?
Thanks
John
