There is little relationship between dietary cholesterol (for example, from
eggs) and blood cholesterol. However, there is a strong relationship between
dietary fat (especially saturated) and serum lipids.
See:
Normal plasma cholesterol in an 88-year-old man who eats 25 eggs a day.
Mechanisms of adaptation. Kern F. N Engl J Med 1991; 324:896-899, Mar 28,
1991
for an extreme example. The paper did not mention if the chap lived alone!
