We received a fluid sample drained from a 10cm pelvic cyst in a 63y old
female requesting amylase and total protein. TP was 1.5 g/l and amylase 383
U/L. Serum amylase was 65 U/l. Is the amylase of any significance? I have
seen amylases of 25,000+ in a few fluids from pancreatic pseudocysts, but
have no experience of an amylase of this level. Any comments ?
