Dear All,
After all the useful information that i received after my last message to the ACB mailbase about D-lactate (thank you everybody) I thought i would try it again. This time my querry is about AMYLIN (for those of you like me who hadn't heard of it, it is a pancreatic peptide hormone co-secreted with insulin and is supposed to delay gastric emptying -there is a paper linking delayed gastric emptying and feed intolerance in critically ill children with elevated levels). One of the registrars on the special care baby unit is trying to set up a study to see if levels are raised in the feed intolerent premature babies. There is an ELISA kit available. Is anybody already running the assay who would be interested in getting involved ??
thanks in advance,
yours,
Claire Hart
