The Purine Research Lab has been doing this for many, many
years.
Sample needed: 1-2ml EDTA plasma or 5ml EDTA whole blood
sent first class mail early in week.
Address below.
Cost presently £27
We usually like some clinical details as we can offer
sensible interpretation as well as a result, eg, is it
compliance problem?, is there renal failure?, is the
patient a known purine overproducer (eg, Lesch-Nyhan
Syndrome)? If there is poor response or allopurinol
sensitivity, we can suggest alternatives, eg benzbromarone.
