Ylva - the answer to your first question is a big YES!! But I think
there are two slightly different challenges. The first is to develop a
general approach to the recording of pathologies that ensures we all
note the same categories of information, so that our descriptions can be
compared. The second is to standardise the recording of specific
pathologies, through studies such as that of Bartosiewicz et al. In a
way, it may be easier to get consistency and agreement for the specific
pathologies (e.g. how do we record and grade alveolar recession in
bovids?) than it will be for the general recording.
