PARTNERSHIP RESEARCH IN EDUCATION:
A one day workshop 30 May, 2002, TechnoCentre, Coventry University
This workshop is aimed at educational researchers and developers who
are involved in research networks or partnerships. Participants may
be based in universities and may work with practice-based researchers
in other sectors or they may be practice-based researchers in
universities, colleges, adult/community education or schools.
The day is designed to support researchers involved in partnerships to:
· define the nature of their partnership research (boundaries,
distributed roles, depth of the partnership);
· explore the issues they face within their partnership research
(power dynamics, practical and ethical issues);
· explore strategies for effective partnership research (issues of
communication, transparency, researcher reflexivity, collaborative
data collection and analysis strategies).
A theoretical framework alongside some case studies of partnership
research will be presented. The workshop activities will be grounded
in participants' experiences and needs. By the end of the day
participants will have developed a framework for strengthening the
partnership research with which they are involved.
