Dear Glenn,
You disagree with something I didn't say.
What I said was that I think that there is
a NECESSARY common ground to all designing,
despite all the differences we can see in
all its varieties.
And I think it is a necessary common ground
independent of the quality of the designing
done or the designs produced. (By which I
do not mean to say that I think the quality
of the designing and the designs produced
is not important. It is.)
Given, as seems to be implied in your
message, that not all designing is good
designing and not all designs are good
designs, being able to design well cannot
be the common ground to all designing,
since it is only true for some designers
and so only some designing.
Best regards,
Tim
