I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears. The movie was

this is funny. Decadent? is that still a criticism?

So what?
Is there really an aesthetic exclusive to coke adverts
and another to film? Is there a difference in terms of
what you see up there on the screen? Why shoudln't
film makers employ techniques taken from all over.
After all advertising is internalised after a while
and so becomes part of the texture of our lives which
art must partake off. What colour was santa before
coke? I can't remember.
I think there is a definite argument to be had here
and I'd be interested to hear if there is anyone out
there studying the cross over between adverts and
film. Advertising and art have always bunked together
and sometimes its hard to tell who is more innovative,
risk taking, original etc. The artists who painted
posters for plays were advertisers as well surely?
