Needless to say, I agree totally. The last thing I want to do is to stifle
discussion about these very important issues, but I believe that neither
this list nor the important discussions benefit from attempting to conduct
a political discussion on a list which is meant to relate, at least
vaguely, to matters of 'statistics'.
One also has to wonder just a little about the motivation of those who
choose to start political etc. discussions in an environment relatively
lacking in those with specific knowledge and expertise to add to such
discussions.
