I would like to thank Ken for an excellent post that thoroughly examines the
review process from a number of perspectives. This information will be valuable
in guiding the review processes of both small and large conferences.
I believe that one of the successes of conference organization is strong thematic
organization. A conference can have a very strong set of papers, but without
underlying themes, the content can appear disorganized or repetitive. Although I
did not attend the Common Ground conference this year, I reviewed the web site
and it seems as if the organization was well-considered and well done.
Thanks to all of you on the conference committee, and in the community at large,
for sharing your thoughts and learnings.
