yes, these two properties could be juxtaposed. Light tends to
behave (in filmic applications) more like a wave than a particle,
with the obvious exception of the photon>halide collision. In
perceptual considerations, would the particle quality serve as the
same 'puntuation' that walter speaks of, and the wave the visual
analouge to a phonetic 'resonance' i spoke of? All said, I think
that especially in narrative works, the temperment of the
climaticism so inherant in fiction and myth is primarily driven by
the 'chord' progression (the 'lyricism', when you extend the
metephor further). But perhaps murch painted the pretty picture to
demonstrate the need for stopping and starting, maybe to
alleiviate an inevitable descent into caphaphony - the kind of
image gravity we see demonstrated through a peice like
_wavelengths_ or _Empire_.
