well, don't forget, the poor guy had a lot of help.
besides, that's 6 hours on the same time scale as that Creation-in-Six-Days
malarkey. the world moved a *lot* slower, back then.
i suspect that Dante may have been following an old tradition here, as
elsewhere --the sort of thing that might be found in the Glossa Ordinaria?
too bad there aren't any Dante specialists on this list.
