Hi Peggy,
A vector map is where you are supplied with digital data. This Data
contains various attributes ie a starting point and an end point. eg the
line from point a to point b is 10m long and its called Street xyz. The
street is also a road with a footpath ! A vectorizing engine would take
this data, and produce a map according to the rules that you apply. eg Draw
street and show name
The output map is dependent on the software you use.
