Dear all:
thank you for your suggestions and information. I did finally use the case
of strep throat analysing pre-test probabilities and LRs of the different
clinical symptoms and signs (fever, lack of cough, etc.) I used different
scenarios with different pre-test probabilities and how in each case they
changed (post-test prob)with ausence or presence of clinical findings.
However, when I tried to use information regarding rapid-antigen test for
strep it was difficult to find reliable information. Then, this part was
only used as a theoretical exercise.
The GPs audience enjoyed the exercise, mainly because they felt that this
was something that they do, but only intuitively. It was great for them to
realise that their diagnostic decisions could be analysed in a more
explicit way.
Best regards
Tomas
