Hello everyone
Sorry to go on about this again... If you are someone who sets up an
automatic reply message on your e-mail system when you're out of the
office, then this is for you!
I'd be grateful if you could suspend your e-mail from Eurotalk if you're
going to be away for more than a few days. If you don't and you have an
automatic reply set up, then anyone sending a message to Eurotalk will
receive your automatic reply. If there are several of you doing this,
the original message sender ends up with numerous unwanted message
replies, which can be rather irritating.
To suspend your mail from Eurotalk, send a message to
[log in to unmask] (note *not* [log in to unmask]) with the
following in the text of the message
set eurotalk nomail
--
On your return, send another message, saying
set eurotalk mail
--
And that's it! If you're a member of several jiscmail lists, you can do
them all at once by sending the message:
set * nomail
--
(the two dashes indicate to the system to ignore any text which appears
after them - like your signature for example).
If you've any questions about this, please get in touch. For anyone
who's interested, a summary of all user commands is available at
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/user-manual/summary-user-commands.htm
Best wishes
Catherine
