In the past we have recommended that users did not use public terminals
for e-commerce, but not prevented it. However, with the advent of the
PRO 1891 Census trial covering Norfolk and the availability of paying
for printouts on-line, we have had to review this position. We have
satisfied ourselves that the PRO service is secure enough, so wehave now
changed our terms and conditions, which all users of public terminals
have to click to accept in order to get internet access to include the
statements that users understand that:
if they want to buy goods online they do this at my own risk.
it is their responsibility to pay for any online services they use which
charge a fee.
