Hi all : Here at London Public our new books/transfer books, etc.
are moved between locations in large canvas bags. We have had
problems with items going astray and cassette and compact disc
cases being broken before they arrive at their destination. We
would like to change from bags to bins hoping, among other
things, that it will cut down on the damage our materials
receive. Is anyone on the list using bins? What did you
previously use? Are they used with or without lids? If yes to
lids, do they lock? Is your entire system using bins or a
combination of the two; eg. new items from Tech Services use
bins, whereas general deliveries use bags. Is your delivery
staff happy with bins? Were there problems in the changing over?
What is the size of your institution?
Any and all advice/warnings would be most welcome.
Please direct your replies to the email address below.
Thanks, Diane
