medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Let me respond hysteron-proteron:
- The correct transliteration into the Latin alphabet should be "martys"
(best set in italic, if it appears in an English or other Latin-alphabet
language text).
- For a scholarly book, it is a very serious sin to leave out the accents in
Greek. Visually, furthermore, it looks shabby to use accentless Greek.
Finally, since we are blessed with computerized typesetting it really is not
big deal for any serious typesetter to include Greek, including the accents
(in this case an acute over the alpha in the nominative).
