It is to be noted, that Aemona is in Slovenia, not Croatia.
The sources report about the relics and the cult of Pelagius 3 diverse
places: Costanza,
Emona (Ljubljana in Slovenia) and Novigrad (Cittanova in Istra,
Croatia). The relics exist in
Costanza (from Rome in 918?) and in Novigrad (in 1146 from the
perifery). The chronicle of
Costanza reports Pelagius as citizen of Emona (Slovenia). R. Bratož
suggest that Pelagius
originated in Emona, his relics were translated from Rome to Costanza,
on the other way the
cult with refugees from Emona in the direction to Adriatic sea at the
end of 6th cent. came to
Istra (Novigrad/Cittanova).
On Pelagius in R. Bratož, Il cristianesimo aquileise prima di Costatino
fra Aquileia e Poetovio,
Udine - Gorizia, 1999
