JHSRP - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
December 2001
Would anyone be interested in contributing to the 'Questions & Answers'
section of the Journal of Health Services Research and Policy? JHSRP is
edited by Nick Black at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine, London UK, and Nicholas Mays, at The Treasury, New Zealand.
The aim of the Q&A section is for you to identify and try to answer
puzzles, especially methodological ones, in health services research and
policy. Readers are invited both to submit questions which they think
will be of general interest or which are particularly topical, and to
offer answers to questions.
Questions can be ones which you feel have not been satisfactorily
answered in the existing literature, ones which relate to 'self-evident'
definitions which need to be made problematic, or paradoxes. Questions
for which we are seeking answers for the next issue of the journal
appear below:
· Will paying health professionals more make them improve
performance?
· Are there any good examples of legislation that balance the
interests of research and patients?
· What is (or isn't) clinical governance?
Answers can be up to 200 words in length and written with wit and
elegance. If more than one, similar, answer is provided, the criterion
of choice for publication will be wit and originality.
All contributions submitted for publication should be faxed (or posted)
to the Q&A Section Editor: Gillian Parker, Nuffield Community Care
Studies Unit, University of Leicester, 22-28 Princess Road West,
Leicester LE1 6TP, UK. Fax: +44 (0)116 252 5423.
