medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
In Ambrogio Lorenzetti's Madonna of SS Proculus and Nicholas (Uffizi), he
hangs onto her forefinger, but I take this to be a naturalistic element
(Ambrogio's babies always do something with their hands) which may have gone
on to influence others such as Donatello.
