medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear List
Sorry for cross-posting.
I am interested in finding references by medieval writers which compare the
physical church to the Heavenly Jerusalem, or alternatively place the
architecture of the physical church in a biblical context, such as Abbot Suger's
discussion of the columns which represent the apostles and the prophets.
Although I am particulary interested in the early Gothic period, anything from
the earlier middle ages would also be helpful.
