which focusses primarily on health inequalities, and provide advice and

and promotional materials.
* Lead the development of multilevel analysis techniques (using MLWin)
within the team, acquiring expertise in this area if necessary.
You will need:
* Knowledge of one or more of health statistics, epidemiological methods
and longitudinal analysis.
* Research and statistical analysis skills, including experience of
statistical analysis packages (SPSS, SAS or STATA).
* Good oral and written communication skills, including experience of
writing scientific papers.
* Ability to produce effective, accessible documentation and training
materials on complex issues.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage own workload
efficiently and switch between tasks.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and to show initiative.
* Ability to manage and develop staff, or clear management potential.
* Ability to work well as part of a team.
This is a permanent post, subject to one year's probation, on Civil Service
terms and conditions. New entrants to ONS normally start at the minimum
