While you are digging ... do we have any idea at all about the rituals at
these wells? Jones is totally unhelpful here. But I notice that he does
mention a St Sunday's Well in Dublin. Anyone else heard of that one? The
reference is to Ryche's A New Irish Prognostication, 1624.
(Gerald in his Journey round Wales mentions penances for Sabbath breaking
at the chapel of St Elvetha or Eluned outside Brecon but there is no
reference to a well there.)
