Hello;
I am looking for evidence to support particular communication
strategies for use in notifying community members of boil water
advisories. For example, is notification by radio and TV more
effective than door to door flyers, etc. To what degree does a
particular communication method influence community members'
behaviour?
I have come across one recent and useful article by O'Donnell M,
Platt C, and Aston R, entitled: Effect of a boil water notice on
behaviour in the management of a water contamination incident.
Communicable Disease and Public Health, March 2000, 3(1):56-59.
The purpose of my search is to find evidence of best practices that
can be written into a protocol for the issuance and lifting of a boil
water advisory.
Any suggestions regarding communication strategies, or any sample
Boil Water Advisory Protocols would be most welcomed.
Thank you,
