I agree with Albert Kirshen. I obviously don't want out of office replies
from mailing lists, but with direct e-mails, I like to know if I'm mailing
an empty office!

I don't agree. I like to know that someone isn't answering as they are out
of the office.
HOWEVER, I think this feature should be prevented from affecting lists.
Moreover, one autoreply saying the person is out of the office is preferable
to 1 with each EMAIL.

I couldn't agree more. I feel this autoreply habit is a sop to rude
impatience, nothing more.
