Dr Cottingham
Medecine has it's cultural differences
One of them is that corticosteroid is given early here
So it can act early
Seen it, read it, done it.
Methylpredisolone & Dexamethasone have a peek effect at 1-2 hours
Kids get a Dexamethasone syrup
Adults get Methylprednisolone IV (unless things have changed)
Unfortunately I can't offer you a thorough debate on the subject
But to repeat that Asthma does have an inflammatory aspect
... that needs to be treated
More especially so
With Pts that have been chain smoking their inhalers
And are Beta maxed out
