medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Tom Izbicki asked if a translation or modern edition of Ludolf of Saxony's _Vita Jesu Christi_ exists; I answered that no translation and no critical edition exists. I should have specified, no _English_ translation. There is an Italian translation, I believe. I do not have bibliographical information about it. There may be modern translations into other languages but I am not aware of any complete ones. There were a variety of translations and adaptations into various vernaculars in the late Middle Ages and early modern era.
I should also note that the modern edition by Rigollot and others published by Palme in Paris/Rome in 1865 is the ninth edition; it was originally published in 1770. Rigollot appears to have been one of the Bollandists; I'm sure others on the list know more about him.
