medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I forget what the original posting on this topic said so forgive me if I am repeating anything, but the Vita Prima Sanctae Brigitae has many friendly druids/pagans who recognize Brigit's sanctity. The one who buys her mother from her father realizes that she can't eat his food because he is unclean (I'm not sure if that is the exact word, but that is the intention) so he provides her with a white cow and a Christian virgin to milk it.
This discussion also brings to mind the three tapestries of the Worthies in the Cloisters Museum here in New York. One is of the nine Hebrew Worthies, one is of the nine Christian Worthies, and the other is the nine pagan Worthies. The only one depicted in this last tapestry that I can remember is Alexander.
