medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Sorry. Should have anticipated that. The reference comes from my notes for
Du Cange, v 5, 336, in the entry on "memoria." I am miles and miles away
from either DuCange or my library. He wrote of saint's feast days and
anniversaries that "we both bring about memory of the saints
[memorias sanctorum], and devotedly urge the memory [memoriam] of our
ancestors and friends who died in the faith." I'd like to know the
context, but can't figure out where to begin.
