medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I have consulted Garnier's two volumes and, although the author devotes a
chapter to the topic "Gestes de la main et du bras", none is said of the
two/three fingers position. Have you tried the following survey? Gigetta
Dalli
Regoli, _Il gesto e la mano. Convenzione e invenzione nel linguaggio
figurativo fra Medioevo e Rinascimento_, Florence, Olschki, 2000. I have
ordered it but not received yet, so I cannot assure you this is "the" font
you need.

Francois Garnier, *Le langage de l'image au moyen age* (Paris,
1982) "qui analyse la signification des actions et gestes physicaux dans
l'art medieval sera peut-etre utile."
i've never seen the thing, myself, so caveat lector.
best,
