medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear all
Wholly out of my depth on this. I see that a woman called Scholfield has
published an English translation of the above in 1959, now long
unobtainable. Does Aelian have so much to say that is different about
heffalumps than we have in standard Latin bestiaries? Does anyone know?
Unlike giant pandas, where I used to have a breeding pair and drowned
four litters until I learnt that others were perhaps interested in the
offspring. Alas! this news co-incided with moving to a smaller house,
and both pandas ended up in the freezer.
Angus, Oman
