For an enquirer in Antigua I am trying to locate an exemplar of the map
described below, and am now - as offered to Mr Derrick - throwing the
request to this List (and our readers abroad). I cannot trace the map in
this Society's collections, nor on the BL Map Library catalogue on CD-ROM,
nor in 'Maps and plans in the Public Record Office' (vol. 2, 1974), the PRO
online catalogue, two out of three literary references (where
bibliographies/sources are cited) looked at in our Library, nor the 'Subject
catalogue of the Library of the Royal Empire [ = Commonwealth] Society'
(vol. 3, 1932) - this latter in case there may have been an earlier state or
draught recorded.

In my reply yesterday I informed him of London Geographical Institute being
George Philip & Son Ltd (etc.), whose surviving Archive is deposited here
(as you all know from the new look online 'Directory of UK map
collections'). And to try any archives of Tate & Lyle. The map's
elusiveness may be due to commercial secrecy, of course. This morning the
enquirer adds: "The map is one single sheet, about 3.5 feet by 4 feet."
Thanks to anyone looking into this query,
Francis
