I like the new NLM Gateway with one major exception - I can't figure out how
to download the citations into my reference manager like I used to - YIKES!
Does anyone know if the new one has that capability. I got lost asking NLM
directly - (the first two staffers couldn't give me an answer.

Subject: Re: PubMed for comprehensive systematic searches?
I have done a comparison of OVID and PubMed looking at systematic reviews
of RCTs across all subjects.
PubMed retrieved a larger number of references than OVID. However, all of
the most relevant references found on OVID were also on PubMed.
Note: PubMed has recently produced an improved tutorial on the site,
pointing out the "limits' section which allows searching on "RCTs",
Practice Guidelines, etc

Please respond to Sue

I have had a request to teach comprehensive systematic searching to a
group who have access to Medline- PubMed version only - and the Cochrane
CD. My personal experience is that Ovid (and/or) Silverplatter platforms
for Medline are much easier to search in a comprehensive systematic way. I
would be interested to know the opinions of list members on the usefulness
of PubMed in this context, and any publications on this issue.
Bottom Line:Given that comprehensive systematic searches are what they need
to do, is PubMed adequate/feasible?
