I've read Matthews' article with interest and I am interested in knowing
Bayesian alternatives to confidence intervals, too. Did you get any answer
to your question? If not, I would be rather surprised. As a
non-statistician I feel awkward about this topic, but my feeling is that
Matthews put his finger on a sore point. Please, could you forward any
information on this subject to me?
