LAUNCH EVENT - YOUNG DISABLED PEOPLE LEAVING CARE
First Key (the National Leaving Care Advisory Service) will be hosting an
event to launch a new research report entitled: 'Whatever Next? Young
disabled people leaving care'
The event will include: keynote speakers, addressing issues of disability
and looked after young people, plus an insight into the research from those
involved. There will be an opportunity to meet others and discuss relevant
issues: including the eligibility of young disabled people for new leaving
care services and the role of new young person's advisers.
In the run-up to implementation of the Children (Leaving Care) Act this
event will be relevant to local authority staff, researchers and disabled
people's organisations.
DATE: 6 April 2001, 12.30-4.00pm
VENUE: Coventry University Techno Centre. We believe that this venue is as
accessible as possible. If you have any access queries please include these
in your reply.
COST: all participants will be provided with lunch and a copy of the report.
A small charge will be made to cover these costs (£20)
