I believe it is important to look at some x-rays the way they were taken.
For example most people will look at a lateral of a knee in the erect
position even though the x-ray is taken with the patient lying down. If you
do this you are likely to miss a lipo haemarthrosis. Better to read it on
its side where the fluid level is more obvious.
Similarly people who view Skull x-ray laterals in the erect position may
miss a fluid level in the sphenoidal sinus.
