The only 'S.F. Roberts' I have found who is a medievalist is the following,
whose PhD thesis may be found at Harvard:
AUTHOR Roberts, Susanne Frances.
TITLE Charity and hospitality in the Rouergue, 1100-1350 / by Susanne
Frances Roberts.
DESCRIPTION ix, 570 leaves : maps ; 29 cm.
NOTES Thesis (Ph. D.)--Harvard University, 1975.
Bibliography: leaves 550-570.
I hope this is of some help.
(We have, of course, the very distinguished P.B. Roberts on our list!)
Best wishes,
George

Subject: Book on Lepers
Dear List Members!
I am desperately searching for the following book:
S.F. Roberts: The Leper Scare of 1321 and the Growth of Consular Power
It was quoted in the German edition of Carlo Ginzburg: Ecstasies (1997).
Ginzburg obviously had the manuscript of the then still unpublished book.
Hence, I am not sure whether the book was actually published nor do I know
by which publisher and when. I have been searching library catalogues for
ages now and just cannot find it. It may also have been published under a
different title.
Can anyone help?
Any ideas, also on what the initials stands for, are much appreciated!
Thanks a lot and have a nice day
Yours Silke Thonemann
