Subject: TIA
Greetings all,
A question for the list. After striking out with several Cochrane,
Medline, and other searches, I ask you this:
Is anyone aware of studies evaluating outcomes of TIA patients, as to
whether or not they are better off admitted to the hospital?
I have found alot of data, showing that the first TIA is an indicator for
subsequent events over the short term (3-6 months). Authors are
recommending expedited evaluation for these patients. Our local
neurologists have now asked to be consulted on every TIA, so they can admit
them to hospital for expedited work up.
Thanks,
