Then this is a failing of the algorithm in general (since an rdfs:label
could be provided just as easily as a dc:title) since it fails to take into
account the special needs of the identifier element (from my quick review of
the DCES, this is the only element with this issue).
It seems a short addendum is in order that for the identifier only the URI
is taken.
As you seem to suggest, it may also be appropriate to follow the default
(first) path of an Alt container.
While we're on to additions, with regards to the system of concatenation
(2.1 in your proposal), I'd like to suggest that the arc not be concatenated
if it is the same as a previously concatenated arc. That is:
<rdf:Description>
<rdfs:label>Bob</rdf:label>
<rdfs:label>Bob</rdf:label>
</rdf:Description>
becomes "Bob" not "Bob;Bob"
I'd also suggest that for reasons of readability "; " be used as the
separator. That is:
"Joe's Story; A Crazy Day" not "Joe's Story;A Crazy Day"
It's a minor thing, but useful.
