DC-Architecture WG,
OK folks, it's time we got moving on some more of our numerous
deliverables. http://purl.org/dc/groups/architecture.htm
If for one am embarassed by the lack of time I'm managed to make for
DC-Arch work in the past few months. While I don't expect any more days
in the week in the coming months, busyness is no excuse for complete
inactivity. DC's simply too important, and the dc-architecture
deliverables constitute DC's path to mainstream Web deployment.
So I'd like to get some sense of who (if anyone...) here can spare any
time for dc-architecture work. We've a lot to do, and everyone is very
busy. So let's make a start...
A brief recap: two presentations from DC-8

DCMI Architecture: Metadata Entities and Relationships (Eric, Dan & Rael)
http://purl.org/dc/workshops/dc8conference/pp/dcmi-arch-breakout.ppt
(Sigge & Dan) (hmm, can't find the HTML version. Must be there someplace)
Here's one way we might get things moving. I propose we establish an IRC
channel for DCMI Architecture/implementation discussions, with a joint
focus on practical discussion of DC deployment issues and some mutual
peer-pressure on the DC specs. I believe one of the problems holding
back the development of a clean architecture for qualified, extensible
Dublin Core descriptions is that we don't yet know what the answer
is! One way to begin to find out the answer is to make sure we all swap
notes a little more...
How does that sound? Better ideas welcomed!
Dan
