Dear Paul: In his documented essay "From Mozarabic to Romanesque in
Silos" The Art Bulletin XXI (1939), pp. 312-74 (reprinted in _Romanesque
Art_ New York, Braziller, 1977) the late Meyer Schapiro gives (n. 66) some
references to a cold & hot "inferus".
