I agree with Sue Stallibrass on the probleme of sexe of cattle.
In a récent work on biométrie of cattle in north of France with S. Lepetz, we
used first femal, because variations due to sexe (and castration) are not so
important. But as we have a lot of phalanges and metapodes we do not use log
ratio ! it is the first paper, for us, on the évidence of régional
differences on the size between Normandie and north from gallo-roman to XIIIe
century.
