Hi Iain,
Are you suggesting that you can create new content for your
new server only via the new custom editor suite?
Won't that alienate all the existing editors who are
happily using other Web editing software? Will the
new custom editor suite offer the same functionality as,
say, Dreamweaver (eg, in terms of global file management)?
We have a large amount of devolved sites/authors here, and
I can just imagine people's reaction if we told them they
had to use a custom built editor...!
Secondly, I'm probably being stupid, but if you substitute
one server for another with different content, which you
then rename 'www.rgu.ac.uk', won't most of the current
external links to content on you old server cease to
function? Isn't that a bit risky?
Or am I missing something?
Moreover, won't all absolute HREFs that people have put
into content on your old server cease to function too?
Confusedly,
Mike
